MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) – A second adult-use cannabis retailer could soon by coming to North Mankato.

At Monday night’s city council meeting, the council will be asked to approve a conditional use permit for the proposed shop at 422 Belgrade Avenue in the Belgrade Business Center.

City staff is recommending the council approve the permit for the business, operated by Craft Bud Ventures.

If approved, the business would be allowed to operate under the city regulations of 8 AM to 1 AM Monday through Saturday and 10 AM to 1 AM on Sundays. City regulations also restrict on-site consumption, samples and vending machines.

The number of retailers permitted in a city is based on population. In North Mankato’s case, that’s two retailers.

The first, located at the corner of Belgrade and Range, is awaiting final state approval.
