NV Energy to launch updated GreenEnergy Rider program Nov. 1
LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — NV Energy will start accepting applications for its revamped NV GreenEnergy Rider program on Nov. 1.
The initiative offers renewable energy options to both residential and business customers, aiding in sustainability goals and promoting clean energy development in Nevada.
Participants can choose to offset their electricity usage through existing or new renewable resources.
Large commercial customers with an average annual usage of 1 megawatt or more can opt for new resources, requiring a special contract with NV Energy and approval from the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada.
All customer classes can apply for existing resources without a minimum size requirement. Interested parties must submit a letter of intent by Nov. 30.
If demand exceeds capacity, a lottery system will allocate energy allotments.
