NVIDIA’s venture capital arm NVentures and Atlassian have invested in Legora. The $50m Series D extension that they joined brings the total round to $600m.

The total overall money raised since launch by Legora is now $866m, valuing the company at $5.6 billion.

The Stockholm-based legal AI company added that other major names to have put money into Legora include: Barclays, Geodesic Capital, Insight Partners, Liberty Global and Nikesh Arora.

Sarah Hughes, Atlassian Head of Corporate Development and Product Partnerships, commented: ‘We see strong alignment with Atlassian’s vision for AI-powered team collaboration and look forward to supporting their continued expansion.’

And Max Junestrand, CEO and Co-founder of Legora, added: ‘Foundation models are improving rapidly, but the real breakthrough is in how they’re applied, where AI doesn’t just assist, but executes autonomously with the right level of human oversight. With the support of our investors and customers, we’re building a full agentic operating system for legal work.’

Over the past year, Legora has ‘scaled from 40 to 400 employees and expanded its customer base from 200 to more than 1,000 organizations across 50+ markets’, they noted. They also stressed that ‘corporate legal departments now represent one of Legora’s fastest-growing segments’

They also underlined that the future is agentic.

‘As AI agents move from passive assistants to systems that can act on behalf of users, using tools and completing workflows, the software model is beginning to shift from SaaS (Software as a Service) toward AaaS (Agent as a Service). For legal teams, this means moving beyond isolated use cases to integrated systems that combine firm data, jurisdictional knowledge, and intelligent agents,’ they concluded.

AL asked Legora why the funding extension has taken place now. A spokesperson told this site this morning: ‘There was great interest in participating in the round and we saw this as an opportunity to bring on more strategic investors.’
