O-T Fagbenle and Osun Group have set up the dark action comedy series “Kill the Bedfords” at Amazon MGM Studios for development, Variety has learned exclusively.

O-T serves as the creator, writer, and executive producer on the project in addition to starring. Luti Fagbenle and Sheila Nortley of Osun Group will executive produce. Tara Ayeni serves as Osun Group’s head of development.

The official logline for the show describes it as “a darkly comedic, action-packed apocalyptic road series about a dysfunctional family trying to save their grandfather as the world crumbles around them. It explores survival, technology, and human stubbornness through the lens of a family that can’t stop arguing – even as civilization collapses.”

This would not be the first series that O-T has starred in and written. He previously did so with the British comedy series “Maxxx,” which was also executive produced by Luti, O-T’s brother. Ayeni was also a script executive, script editor, and additional writer on the show. O-T also directed multiple episodes.

O-T is perhaps best known for his role in the hit Hulu series “The Handmaid’s Tale,” playing Lucas Bankole throughout the show’s run. He earned an Emmy nomination for best supporting actor in a drama for the series in 2021. His other TV credits include “The First Lady,” “WeCrashed,” “Loot,” and Presumed Innocent.”

Osun Group’s recent projects include the documentary “White Man Walking” for BBC Storyville, the Netflix version of “Blue Therapy” and the Belgian adaptation Koppels in Crisis for Streamz. Osun Group is also currently developing a series version of the Yrsa Daley-Ward novel “The Catch.”
