I’ve covered shopping events like Prime Day, Black Friday and Cyber Monday for nearly five years as an editor for NBC Select, so I know how to find deals that are actually worth buying. One of our favorite smart plugs, this Amazon model plugs into any standard outlet and lets you automate gadgets like lamps, air purifiers and fans. Pair it with the Alexa app to control a device remotely using your phone.

Besides dishes, this soap spray is gentle enough to use on surfaces like countertops and sinks without damaging them, according to the brand. Plus, it leaves behind a pleasant fresh scent. The value bundle comes with a spray bottle and three dish soap refills.

This bestseller, one of our favorite lip masks, has shea butter and vitamin C to hydrate and soften your lips, plus it comes with a small spatula so you don’t have to dip your fingers into the product. It’s available in multiple flavors, all of which are on sale.

Take this personal water filter on hikes, camping or other outdoor adventures to filter out parasites, microplastics and impurities from your water as you sip through the top mouthpiece. Its lightweight and slim design makes it easy to take on the go, too.

You won’t need to worry about accidentally leaving your garage door open with this device. You can open and close it from anywhere and set an open/close schedule using the companion app on your phone. The device is compatible with most garage door openers made after 1993, according to the brand.

Stock up on essentials this Prime Day with these Glad trash bags, which trap odors and have a clean, fresh scent. Plus, they expand over heavy items and sharp edges, so you won’t have to worry about tears and leaks, according to the brand. The pack comes with 110 bags.

This Bagsmart toiletry bag is an NBC Select Travel Award winner and editor favorite thanks to its water-resistant design and four interior zip compartments for storing makeup, skin care, hair care and more. The inner pockets have elastic straps to hold your bottles upright, and the zippers above and below each pocket make your items easily accessible.

This is one of our favorite Korean sunscreens and earned the top spot in our list of 100 best face sunscreens. It won’t cause breakouts and doesn’t leave a white cast, no matter your skin tone, says NBC Select editorial projects manager Rebecca Rodriguez. It has allantoin, an ingredient derived from plants that helps reduce inflammation, and birch juice, sap extracted from birch trees that hydrates the skin, according to the brand.

If you’re stocking up on household essentials this Prime Day, consider this pack of 32 Energizer AA batteries, which can last up to 10 years in storage (which means you don’t have to worry about using them right away).

These Kitchenaid oven mitts are made from soft, ribbed silicone that’s grippy, water-resistant and heat-resistant up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit, according to the brand. They also have a cotton cuff, so they feel comfortable against your skin.

This Neutrogena gel cream ranked among the top 50 in our list of 100 best moisturizers. It’s a favorite of NBC Select reporter Zoe Malin, who says it’s lightweight, gentle and great for sensitive skin. It has hyaluronic acid, which absorbs moisture like a sponge from the air and draws it into the skin.

These wool dryer balls help you save on packs of dryer sheets while avoiding heavily-fragranced laundry products. This shower oil is a favorite among our NBC Select editors as a post-body wash step or as a shaving cream alternative. I use this every time I shower, and I love the thick, silky texture.
