Ohio Division of Cannabis Control issues alert over undisclosed ingredient in edibles
April 29, 2025
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WKRC) — The Division of Cannabis Control (DCC) has issued a product alert for a specific lot of cannabis-infused edible gummies produced by Farmaceutical RX, LLC, under the Local Edibles Ohio brand.
The alert was prompted after the discovery of an undisclosed ingredient, “edible glitter,” in the gummies, which was not listed on the product label or in the state inventory tracking system.
According to the agency, edible glitter, and other non-marijuana ingredients, are permissible for ingredients in some circumstances as long as they are disclosed and properly sourced from a licensed and regulated entity.
The processor, identified by license number CCP000045-00, failed to provide evidence that the ingredient was sourced from a licensed and regulated supplier.
The edible glitter does not “reasonably constitute a health hazard,” and a product alert was “determined to be the most appropriate course of action.”
All impacted products were voluntarily pulled from dispensary shelves, per the DCC.
The agency is advising consumers to verify their products to ensure they are not from the affected lot.
The DCC recommends that patients and consumers avoid consuming the affected product. They are advised to either discard the remainder or return it to the dispensary where it was purchased for a refund.
The agency will provide updates as necessary regarding this product alert.
