Oklahoma one of 28 states where renewable energy beats coal

A report shows Oklahoma gets 41% of its electrical power from renewable energy.

It is one of 28 states that receive more electricity from wind and solar than from coal-fired power plants. Only 6% comes from coal in Oklahoma and other sources provide 52% of the electricity.

In Kansas, 52% of the electrical power is provided by wind and solar projects while 22% is from coal.

Thirty-percent of electrical power in Texas is provided by renewable energy while 12% comes from coal plants.

Forty-one percent of the power in Colorado comes from wind and solar projects while 27% comes from coal.

New Mexico gets 50% of its power from renewable energy and 21% from coal.
