A man was arrested on Thursday when police raided a vape shop in Norwalk and reported finding a number of marijuana products they say were being sold illegally.

The search was carried out at the Mohegan Smoke Shop at 84 N. Main St. where investigators had a search and seizure warrant in connection with an ongoing investigation into the report of smoke shops selling cannabis products without a license, according to Lt. Tomasz Podgorski of the Norwalk Police Department.

The search was carried out by the department’s Special Services Division and turned up “a variety of pre-wrapped marijuana cigarettes,” gummies/edibles and vapes, Podgorski said. The items were in a locked storage room and were packaged for sale, according to Podgorski. The gummies were reportedly found to contain more than legal limit of one milligram of THC.

Investigators also reported finding several hundred dollars during the search, Podgorski said.

Police arrested 23-year-old Yassin R. Adwan of Bridgeport and charged him with possession of more than one kilogram of a marijuana product and possession with intent to sell more than one kilogram of a marijuana product. His bond was set at $25,000, Podgorski said.

Adwan is expected to go before a judge on April 24.
