PACIFIC RIM Live-Action TV Series by Legendary Television in Development at Prime Video
April 17, 2025
Legendary Television and Amazon MGM Studios are teaming up to bring Pacific Rim to Prime Video. Variety reports that the live-action Pacific Rim television series is officially in development, with Eric Heisserer as its writer and executive producer. We don’t know any further specifics about plot details at this time. However, the series will be a prequel to the two previous films, which were released in 2013 and 2018, respectively.
The franchise made its way to TV via Netflix’s animated series Pacific Rim: The Black back in 2021. That show ran for two seasons, ending in 2022. For those who aren’t familiar with Pacific Rim, here’s a quick breakdown of what this universe is all about. Basically a rift opens up in the Pacific (get it?) Ocean that allows kaijus from another dimension to enter our world.
They begin taking out humankind and I really love that for them. Collectively, we are not the greatest species, ya know? Humans then make these big ole robots called Jaegers to fight against the big ole monsters. It is all a ton of fun.
We cannot wait to hear more details about this Pacific Rim TV series as Legendary Television and Amazon MGM continue to develop it for Prime Video.
