Pepper Place in Birmingham hosting EV showcase on Saturday

June 11, 2026

Drive Electric Alabama will host an electric vehicle showcase Saturday at Pepper Place in Birmingham.

The free event will run from 8 a.m. to noon in the parking lot next to Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams at The Farmers Market at Pepper Place, 2930 Third Avenue South.

The showcase will feature a variety of electric vehicles, including pickup trucks, SUVs, sedans and high-performance sports cars. Attendees will be able to see the vehicles up close and talk with EV owners about fuel savings, range, technology and performance.

“EV owners save money on fuel costs, and those savings have grown as gas prices have spiked in recent months,” said Michael Staley, president of the Alabama Clean Fuels Coalition, who drives an all-electric Chevy pickup truck. “What makes Saturday’s showcase so powerful is it allows anyone interested in EVs to talk one-on-one with EV owners about how much money they save by rolling past gas stations, as well as other topics like EV range, technology and performance.”

Staley said the event gives attendees a chance to hear directly from people who drive electric vehicles every day.

“There’s no better way to learn about EVs than by talking to EV owners,” Staley said. “They are driving these vehicles every day and can provide real-world comparisons between electric and gas-powered vehicles.”
