Phosio Raises $4 Million Seed Round To Advance Affordable AR/AI Glasses
June 2, 2026
Phosio announced the closing of a $4 million seed financing round to accelerate commercialization of its thin-film materials platform for next-generation AR/AI glasses. The round was led by MESH, with participation from Sierra Ventures, TEL Venture Capital, Silicon Catalyst Ventures, Willamette Valley Capital, and Silicon Catalyst Angels.
The company is developing a proprietary thin-film platform designed to integrate high-performance display functionality directly into lightweight eyewear. As artificial intelligence increasingly shifts toward ambient computing interfaces, Phosio aims to address key challenges facing the AR glasses market, including high display costs, bulky hardware, power consumption, and manufacturing complexity. By embedding display capabilities into everyday eyewear, the company seeks to make AI-enabled glasses more practical and affordable for mainstream consumers.
The new funding will support Phosio’s transition from proof-of-concept development to commercial deployment. The company plans to accelerate product commercialization and expand partnerships across the semiconductor and consumer electronics industries.
Phosio was co-founded by Omid Sadeghi, Cory Perkins, and Douglas Keszler. The team combines expertise in advanced materials science, optics, and semiconductor manufacturing. Its broader leadership group includes former executives from Meta and members of the early scaling team from Inpria, which was acquired in a deal valued at approximately $600 million.
