(CNN) – Police in Maryland are asking for volunteers from the community to smoke marijuana in front of them for research.

The department is calling it a Cannabis Green Lab. It will be an educational opportunity for the Ocean City Police Department and Montgomery County Police.

Organizers said they want everyone involved to gain a better understanding of the impact of marijuana impairment.

“Also, some various differences, comparison to alcohol and cannabis,” said Ian Chenkin with Hi Tide Dispensary. “It’s a good … a great look for law enforcement to understand that you know cannabis isn’t like a one-size fits all.”

Participants must be at least 21 years old and will have to provide their own weed.
