Police raid uncovers hundreds of cannabis plants
Essex PolicePolice have discovered hundreds of cannabis plants and several suspected illegal weapons following a raid in Essex.
Officers found 402 plants, along with “significant” amounts of cash and packaged cannabis, during a search in Great Leighs on Sunday.
Class A drugs were also found, they added.
A suspect has been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply and cultivation of cannabis.
Essex PoliceSgt Sarah Jeans said: “This is a significant discovery and a clear example of the scale and seriousness of organised cannabis production.
“These setups are not harmless – they are linked to criminal networks that exploit vulnerable people and put our communities at risk.
“We will continue to act on intelligence and work with our partners to target those who profit from this type of criminality.”
