An employee of a smoke shop in Westport was arrested Tuesday when authorities raided the business and reported finding several marijuana products.

The search came during an investigation into the alleged sales of non-licensed cannabis products and reported sales to minors at the Savvy Smoker shop at 940 Post Road East, according to Lt. Jillian Cabana of the Westport Police Department.

Cabana said the search that was carried out involved the department’s Detective Bureau along with the State of Connecticut Drug Control Division. Investigators seized pre-rolled marijuana cigarettes, canisters of THC flower, THC resin products, THC vape cartridges and THC edible products, according to Cabana.

A sales associate of the store, identified as 24-year-old Mohemed Zeine Hedimy of Brooklyn, New York, was arrested and charged with illegal sale or manufacturing of cannabis. He was released after posting a $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Court on March 28.

Cabana said the investigation remains ongoing and that additional arrests are expected.
