Power Factors will supply on-site and remote monitoring and controls with Unity Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), a scalable and efficient management system, and Unity Power Plant Controller (PPC).

This agreement enables BNZ to optimise its renewable energy management through real-time monitoring, enhanced performance, and seamless integration of multiple energy sources across its current and planned portfolio of renewable energy assets.

Power Factors’ SCADA and PPC technology has been deployed across all six BNZ sites in Spain and Italy, totalling 174 MW of installed assets. These projects, brought online over the last 10 months, are the first installations of Power Factors technology within BNZ’s portfolio. Collaboration between Power Factors and BNZ could continue on a wider range of planned solar PV assets across Europe, potentially bringing total management capacity above 1.7 GW as additional projects come online.

Choosing Power Factors streamlines development and asset management for BNZ, simplifying the oversight of its assets and unifying its fast-growing portfolio under a single technology. In doing so, the company also strengthens its broader goal of deploying an aggregated renewable energy portfolio across Europe.

This successful collaboration also paves the way for BNZ to integrate battery energy storage system (BESS) technology, enabling the company to stabilize the supply of renewable energy and maximise revenue from its portfolio.

“We have the utmost respect for the BNZ team, their visionary expansion strategy, and what they have already accomplished” said Julieann Esper Rainville, Chief Executive Officer at Power Factors. “Investing in lean operational processes and infrastructure is essential for BNZ to achieve its ambitious goals for growth. By partnering with Power Factors, BNZ is reducing complexity from the start, which will pay dividends time and again as the company executes on its strategy in the years ahead.”

As interest in clean energy accelerates, this collaboration lays the foundation for long-term sustainability across Europe and beyond. BNZ, part of the Nuveen Infrastructure portfolio managed through the Europe Clean Energy Fund III – one of Europe’s largest renewable energy investment funds – is clearly committed to continuing along this path and supporting the transition to renewable energy. The decision to partner with Power Factors, a key technology provider, will help bring this ambition closer to reality.

“This agreement with Power Factors marks an important step in our commitment to delivering high-quality and efficient renewable energy solutions” added Peter Karam, Operations Director at BNZ. “As BNZ grows to meet our ambitious targets across Europe, we need the right technology partners to help simplify operations and maximize the performance of our assets. This is a great opportunity to do so alongside strategic partners who share our vision for a more sustainable future.”
