Pearl Abyss announced on the 4th that Black Desert Mobile will officially participate in the Green Game Jam, a global environmental challenge involving adventurers from around the world.

Now in its seventh year, the Green Game Jam is a global campaign under the ‘Playing for the Planet’ initiative, supported directly by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). It is a meaningful project in which major global game companies raise public awareness about environmental protection and sustainability through in-game content. Launched in 2019 under the leadership of the UNEP, the Playing for the Planet Alliance conducts various activities to spread the values of environmental protection and sustainability through the medium of gaming.

Black Desert Mobile is drawing attention from global gaming fans as the only Korean game participating in this year’s Green Game Jam. It joins this large-scale campaign alongside 57 other prominent global game companies, including Ubisoft’s Just Dance 2026 Edition and Rovio Entertainment’s Angry Birds Friends. As part of the ‘Rainforest’ team, Black Desert Mobile will host various in-game events that allow adventurers to naturally experience the true meaning of environmental protection while playing the game.

Until the regular maintenance on June 19, players can receive a ‘Birch Sapling Bag’ via their in-game mailbox and must plant five birch saplings in their territory. Upon successfully completing this mission, players will receive an ‘Environmental Protection Chest’ as a special reward, containing 20k ‘Tears of the Goddess,’ 3k ‘Holy Water of Light,’ and 1k ‘Territory Growth Chests.

Additionally, a Green Game Jam screenshot verification event is underway. Users who take a photo with the trees they have planted in their territory and share the screenshot on the official Black Desert Mobile forum will receive an additional 10k ‘Restoration Scrolls.

Meanwhile, Pearl Abyss has significantly improved the acquisition environment for ‘Void Eyes,’ a key growth material in Black Desert Mobile, added a new ‘Clash’ boss, and revamped the ‘Twisted Nightmare’ content to further enhance the core fun of combat. Pearl Abyss stated that it plans to continue providing meaningful updates to support the growth and settlement of its adventurers, while also continuing its public interest activities to promote the value of environmental protection and social responsibility both inside and outside the game.
