A public hearing will be held later this week for a cannabis cultivation, processing and distribution facility in Alden.

This is part of the Northeastern Alliance Development Project.

The nearly 58,000 square foot facility would replace an abandoned medical building along Walden Avenue.

This current proposal does not include a retail dispensary.

The public hearing is Thursday at the Alden Town Hall on Wende Road at 9 a.m.

There is also a public comment period on the project that goes until February 24.
