RES opens Houston renewables warehouse

May 26, 2026

RES has opened a warehouse facility in Houston, Texas to support its expanding US solar and battery energy storage systems operations and maintenance business.

The company said the Houston site will serve as its primary US inventory management hub for solar and BESS projects across North America.

RES added that the facility will support a 1.5GWp operations and maintenance contract with Repsol signed in September 2025 covering projects in Texas and New Mexico.

The company said the investment comes as the US market prepares for 43.4GW of new utility-scale solar and 24GW of new BESS capacity in 2026.

Texas accounts for around 40% of planned solar construction nationally, according to the company.

The Houston facility will consolidate stock, centralise tools and spare parts, and expand RES’ vendor managed inventory offering.

“Supply-chain resilience is now a critical part of asset performance,” said Juan Gutiérrez, chief executive of RES Services.

“By investing in local infrastructure, we are ensuring our customers have faster, more reliable access to the parts and expertise they need – whatever the external environment brings.”

RES has constructed 19.5GW of renewable energy projects in the US, including the 505MW High Lonesome Wind Project in Texas and the 690MWdc Faraday Solar Project in Utah.

The company has also commissioned a 1,200MWh battery energy storage project in New Mexico and has a further 4,000MWh of storage under construction across the country.

Future phases of the Houston facility will include technical training capabilities and equipment repair and refurbishment services.
