Santa Cruz sustainability committee seeks a young environmental activist
April 3, 2025
The City of Santa Cruz is seeking a young environmental activist to join its new Sustainability and Resiliency Committee. The small pilot committee consists of three members and is designed as an advisory body specializing in climate issues.
The committee has one opening for a Santa Cruz resident age 24 or younger. Along with the other members, the younger resident will advise the city council on issues related to climate advocacy and resiliency, including transportation, water, trees, waste, buildings and energy. The role pays a stipend.
The committee will be required to meet quarterly for 18 months in the city council chambers. All meetings will be open to the public for participation. Applications for the role are due April 28. More information is available in the drafted committee bylaws or on the City of Santa Cruz website.
