May 31, 2025

The Sheriff’s Joint Compliance Task Force on Friday says it seized 350 pounds of THC/cannabis products from a grow house in The Bronx.

“The grow house was brought to light when the City Marshal’s office, in collaboration with Con Edison, attempted to execute an order of seizure for the repossession of the gas/electric meter located at 967 Longfellow Avenue,” a release from the city’s sheriff’s office says.

Authorities found cannabis plants being cultivated inside the building located near a charter school.

The task force confiscated 270.1 pound of growing cannabis plants, 56.2 pounds of cannabis flower that was “broken down and processed for sale” and 23.9 pounds of THC edibles “that were packaged with brand name candy bars and other candy items that was marketed towards the youth.”

They also found almost 2 pounds of “vegetative psilocybin mushrooms.”

The sheriff’s release did not mention any arrests. The business was issued a cease-and-desist order, cited for multiple civil violations and an order to vacate from the Department of Buildings.
