Hollywood stars Sigourney Weaver and Jason Isaacs have been cast in Amazon’s upcoming Tomb Raider adaptation.
In an announcement posted to Reddit, Prime Video revealed that Isaacs will portray Lara Croft’s uncle Atlas DeMornay, while Weaver is set to play a new role in the Tomb Raider universe.
Weaver’s character Evelyn Wallis is described as a “mysterious, high-flying woman who is keen to exploit Lara’s talents.”
Weaver and Isaacs join Sophie Turner, who was cast as Lara last September.
Other returning characters from the video game franchise include Zip (Martin Bobb-Semple) and Winston (Bill Paterson).
Celia Imrie, Jack Bannon, John Heffernan, Paterson Joseph, Sasha Luss, Juliette Motamed, and August Wittgenstein will also star as new characters.
“Tomb Raider boasts a plethora of iconic characters,” said series showrunner Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
“I am thrilled to have been able to bring some personal and fan favourites to the screen while also introducing a few new rascals of our own to the mix. This cast is beyond my wildest dreams.”
Amazon’s Tomb Raider adaptation is being led by Waller-Bridge and Wayward Pines creator Chad Hodge, with production set to begin on January 19, 2026.
The series was greenlit by Amazon MGM Studios back in May 2024.
