This week, the City of Snoqualmie was awarded the 2025 Best in Governance Award as the Voice of the People National Champion in Excellence in the Natural Environment category. 

Snoqualmie’s Best in Governance Award recognition is based on results from the National Community Survey™ and was determined by responses from Snoqualmie residents.

The City of Snoqualmie works with independent consultant Polco to conduct the comprehensive National Community SurveyTM biennially to gather resident feedback on quality of life, safety, natural environment, health and wellness, utilities, and more. 

In the most recent community survey, Snoqualmie earned an exceptional 98% rating for the overall quality of its natural environment, well above national and regional benchmarks. The natural environment category included Snoqualmie’s air quality, cleanliness, water resources, preservation of natural areas and open space, and recycling and yard waste services. 

“This award is a testament to the collective efforts of our dedicated City employees, whose daily work helps preserve and enhance our environment,” said Mayor Katherine Ross. “It also reflects the contributions of our volunteers and our residents, all of whom play a vital role in protecting Snoqualmie’s natural environment.”
