Hartford Insurance Group Inc. units and other carriers are making a “meritless” bid to oppose transferring a coverage dispute into the underlying multidistrict litigation over social media addiction, Meta Platforms Inc. and its subsidiary Instagram LLC told the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation.

The social media giant has been locked in a fight with its insurers over where the insurance coverage issues should be litigated after the Hartford units sued in Delaware state court in November.
