CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WWBT) – Governor Glenn Youngkin announced that a more than $220 million investment is coming to Chesterfield.

Solstice Advanced Materials Inc. is returning to the area with multiple projects in the plan.

Firstly, the company plans to expand its already existing ballistic fiber manufacturing facility.

After completion, Solstice said it will create 100 new jobs in the Commonwealth.

“Solstice Advanced Materials’ expansion in Chesterfield underscores Virginia’s leadership in the advanced manufacturing and materials industry,”said Governor Glenn Youngkin.“Their ballistic fibers help protect those who protect us, and this growth reflects the strength of the Commonwealth’s talent. Partnerships like this will ensure Virginia remains the best place to build and innovate.”

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership helped secure the project for Virginia. Gov. Youngkin helped by approving a grant of $2,000,000 from the Investment Performance Grant.

As well as approving a $1,500,000 grant from the Opportunity Fund.
