Sony Group has launched a new venture capital fund, targeting over JPY 20 billion in new investments. This is the Japanese company’s fourth venture fund since 2016, and the new investment is expected to take the group to over JPY 85 billion in assets under management. The group said it will take a “more selective approach” to investment by this fund, focusing on areas with stronger strategic alignment to Sony Group’s businesses.
