Stocks Are Rising. Amazon and Apple Provide a Lift.

Earnings reports from Amazon.com and Apple were a shot in the arm for the stock market on Friday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 62 points, or 0.1%. The S&P 500 was up 0.6%. The Nasdaq Composite was up 1.2%.
The major indexes are on pace to close out their best October in years. The Dow and S&P 500, up 2.6% and 2.7% this month, can lock in their best October since 2022, while the Nasdaq is on track to rise 5.5% and mark its best October since 2021, according to Dow Jones Market Data.
