Subaru now offers three electric SUVs with the 2026 Solterra, Trailseeker, and Uncharted. After introducing new deals this month, including 0% APR and a $2,000 customer cash bonus, Subaru’s EVs are now cheaper to lease than its gas-powered and hybrid SUVs.

Like Toyota, Subaru expanded its EV lineup this year, adding two new electric SUVs alongside the updated 2026 Solterra.

The Solterra, Subaru’s first electric SUV, received an overhaul for the 2026 model year with a longer driving range, faster charging, a fresh new look inside and out, and a built-in NACS port so you can recharge at Tesla Superchargers.

Powered by a larger 74.7 kWh lithium-ion battery, the 2026 Subaru Solterra now has an estimated driving range of up to 288 miles, a considerable jump from the 227 miles of range in the outgoing model.

As expected, all 2026 Solterras are equipped with an updated version of Subaru’s signature Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system, offering “best-in-class” ground clearance of 8.3″.

The exterior debuts Subaru’s updated design, featuring a new EV lightning signature, an illuminated six-star logo, redesigned headlights and taillamps, and a new rear spoiler.

Subaru also gave the interior an overhaul with an all-new 14″ touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.

Joining the Solterra this year, Subaru introduced the smaller, more affordable Uncharted and the larger Trailseeker (see our review). Later this year, Subaru’s first three-row electric SUV, the 2027 Getaway, will go on sale.

The 2026 Uncharted is Subaru’s cheapest all-electric vehicle, starting from $34,995, positioned below the Solterra and Trailseeker, which start at $38,495 and $39,995, respectively.

With gas prices averaging nearly $4.50 per gallon in the US, Subaru is making it even more tempting to go electric this month.

Subaru is offering 0% APR financing for up to 72 months and a $2,000 Customer Cash Rebate on new 2026 EVs, including the Uncharted, Solterra, and Trailseeker. With incentives, the electric SUVs are cheaper to lease than their gas- and hybrid-powered equivalents.

The 2026 Subaru Uncharted is the most affordable of the group, with the Premium FWD trim listed for lease at $345 a month for 36 months with $1,025 due at signing.

While the 2026 Crosstrek Sport Hybrid appears cheaper to lease at $339 per month for 36 months, when you factor in the $3,829 due at signing, it’s actually more expensive.

Including the down payment, the effective cost is $445 per month for the Crosstrek Hybrid and $373 for the Uncharted Premium, for a $72 per-month difference.

The same applies to the larger Trailseeker and Outback SUVs. The 2026 Subaru Trailseeker Premium is available to lease for $375 a month for 36 months, with $1,025 due at signing. The Outback Premium is listed at $345 a month for 36 months with $4,344 due at signing.

With the down payment, the effective cost of the Outback is $465 per month, compared to the Trailseeker at $403, or $62 less.

The electric SUVs end up being cheaper to lease thanks to the $2,000 EV incentive that’s included in the down payment. Subaru’s deals end on June 1, 2026, and may vary by region.

Subura’s electric SUVs are developed through its partnership with Toyota and share the same underpinnings as the 2026 Toyota bZ, C-HR, and bZ Woodland. With improvements similar to the Solterra, the 2026 Toyota bZ was the third-best-selling EV in the US in the first quarter, behind only the Tesla Model Y and Model 3.

While it’s still early, Subaru’s EV sales have improved. Through the first four months of 2026, Solterra sales are up 2.2% with 4,169 deliveries, while Subaru sold another 406 Trailseeker and 519 Uncharted models.
