‘Superman’ movie filmed in Cleveland: Early screening tickets now on sale
June 10, 2025
CLEVELAND, Ohio –Tickets are now on sale for “Superman” fans eager to catch the new movie before anyone else — but there’s a catch: You have to be an Amazon Prime member to buy them.
Amazon is hosting special advanced screenings on July 8, three days ahead of the film’s global release on July 11. These early showings are exclusive to Prime members and will take place locally at 7 p.m. at Cinemark Valley View, Regal Crocker Park, Regal Cobblestone Square in Elyria, Cinemark Cuyahoga Falls, and Cinemark Tinsel Town in North Canton.
Ticket prices vary by location — $17.59 for a standard-format screening in Valley View, for example, and $24.19 for an IMAX showing at Crocker Park. Fans can snag their tickets at amazon.com/superman.
The screenings offer more than just first dibs on one of summer’s most anticipated blockbusters. Through Fandango’s roundup program, ticket buyers can opt to round up their purchase to the nearest dollar, with proceeds benefiting Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
The efforts are part of Amazon’s “Anyone Can Be Super” campaign. The initiative aims to immerse fans in “Superman”-inspired experiences across the company’s platforms while showing how small actions can make a big difference.
If you miss the advanced screenings, don’t worry. General ticket sales for all showtimes open Wednesday, June 11.
Directed by James Gunn, the reboot stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. The film promises epic action mixed with humor and heart, portraying a Man of Steel “driven by compassion and an inherent belief in the goodness of humankind,” DC Studios said in a press release.
Parts of the movie were shot over six weeks last summer in Downtown Cleveland and at Headlands Beach State Park in Mentor. Familiar landmarks such as Public Square, Progressive Field and the Detroit-Superior Bridge can clearly be seen in the film’s trailer.
