MAYFIELD, Ky. – Team Kentucky officially broke ground on the first Medical Cannabis Safety Compliance Facility in the Commonwealth this afternoon.
State38 LLC will be bringing a new facility to Graves County that will employ around a dozen Kentuckians.
It will be one of seven in the state dedicated to ensuring the safety and quality of medical cannabis products.
Last month, the first medical cannabis business in the state, located in Wayne County, held a groundbreaking and a ribbon-cutting for a cultivator facility in Clark County.
No word yet on any groundbreaking on ribbon-cutting in south-central Kentucky, but the governor says he’s excited to see this new industry take root because he believes “health care is a basic human right.”
