Jelly Shoes

We spoke with trend expert Lilly Sisto who advised us on the best ways to style jelly shoes for summer:

• Everyday outfit advice: “A great pair of jeans, a white tee, maybe an oversized button-down… adding jelly sandals instantly makes it feel more styled without trying too hard.”
• Style them with polished pieces: “I always think contrast is key. My style leans pretty classic, so I like pairing jelly shoes with tailored pieces, like a linen set or a structured dress. It balances the playfulness of the shoe and makes the whole look feel more elevated.”
• For a night out, do this: “I would keep everything else really refined. A simple black dress or something silky, minimal jewelry, clean hair, and then the jelly heel becomes the statement. It is subtle but still a little playful.”

White Denim

White jeans are nothing new, but how can we keep them fresh in 2026? Stylist Liz Teich advised how to effortlessly brighten your look with them:

• Monochromatic always works: “I personally love styling a monochromatic or black and white look with white jeans for any season. Fabrics are seasonal, not colors, (think linen for summer and wool for winter, or sandals vs boots), so really these easy formulas can work all year round with the right styling pieces.”
• Barrel jeans are here to stay: “Barrel jeans are still going strong, so if you do love that style, opt for a longer, uncropped length to keep it fresh, and possibly more timeless.”
• Layers still work for summer: “For cooler days, wear a cashmere tee topped with a light spring jacket, such as a blazer, suede jacket, barn jacket, or cropped trench. This is a great way to add a layer that you won’t mind removing when temps warm up through the day.”

Ballet Sneakers

We’ve been sharing our love for ballet sneakers for a while now, but if you want to take things up a notch, celebrity stylist Samantha Brown has got some advice for you:

• Don’t be scared of socks: “Interesting and textured socks will uplevel the ballet sneaker look, making it even more fashion-forward.”
• Do this with denim: “Pairing ballet sneakers with denim depends a lot on the proportions of the wearer. A loose-fitting jean can swallow the shoe, so I’d recommend a more fitted top with them. A slimmer cut stove pipe will be more universally flattering when paired with a ballet sneaker.”
• Why they’re popular: “They’re a mix of ballet flats and slimmer sneakers, which have both been dominant recently. They offer comfort while still feeling more feminine than traditional sneakers.”

Rugby Shirts

Sporty chic and endlessly preppy, celebrity stylist Samantha Brown says this is how to look effortlessly cool in your rugby shirts:

• Keep it playful for daytime looks: “Add jean or silk shorts, jelly flip-flops and a crossbody bag.”
• Swap them for t-shirts: “Tuck them into bermudas, and add a fun belt for a twist of classic American prep. I even like them styled back to a silk slip skirt for a more unexpected, offbeat pairing.”
• They work for nighttime, too: “Front tuck a rugby shirt into a sequin or lace skirt and add kitten heels.”
