Northside senior Jayden Flagg is taking her cheer talents to Trinity Valley Community College, a program featured on Netflix’s “Cheer,” after earning a scholarship.

WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — A Northside High School senior is taking a leap she once never thought possible, turning years of dedication into a next-level opportunity.

For Jayden Flagg, cheerleading did not always feel like a sure thing. Over time, though, the sport became more than just an activity.

“It’s like a family. Everyone here is extremely close, the environment is great,” Flagg said.

With support from her parents and guidance from her coaches, Flagg continued to grow, building both her skills and confidence.

Now, she is taking that talent to the next level.

“I signed to Trinity Valley Community College in Texas, which is a really big cheer school. They are 17-time national champions,” Flagg said.

The program is recognized worldwide and has been featured on Netflix.

“They were featured on a TV show on Netflix called Cheer. It was about them and another really good college,” she said.

But Flagg said cheering in college was not always part of her plan.

“I actually did not originally plan on cheering in college. I wanted to do all stars down here and go to GSU,” she said.

Flagg said she did not believe she was good enough to compete at the Division I level, but her coaches encouraged her to take a chance.

“I’m like, ‘No way,’ and then they always pushed me. I wasn’t gonna cheer in college like I said and they’re the reason that I even sent the video got in contact with the coaches,” she said.

With their help, Flagg submitted a video to Trinity Valley coaches in March. Just days later, she was signed.

Now, she is preparing to move from Warner Robins to Athens, Texas, hoping to represent her hometown.

“I’m glad that I can go somewhere and represent them and show them what we do at Punch Front and show them what we’re all about here,” Flagg said.

Flagg will report to Trinity Valley Community College in July for camp. She plans to study surgical technologies.
