The reality star is fairly selective about what she posts on her Instagram page, but she recently shared something a little out of the box.

Earlier this month, the Victoria’s Secret runway star shared an image that was made through AI. It made it look as though her adult self was hugging her younger self. The younger version of Kendall had bangs and her arm around the adult version. This was an example of one of the more popular uses and trends of AI for social media.

In the past, her sister, Kim, shared one of the younger-meeting-older-self photos on her social media, but Kendall’s post actually ended up getting some backlash.

After the 30-year-old posted her AI photo, there were some fans who loved it and found it sweet and sentimental. However, there was another side of the internet that was not into it. Not only is AI a debatable topic these days, but the photo was also found to be self-indulgent by some.

On platforms like Reddit, users left critical and judgmental comments about the story.

“Kendall has joined Kim in reposting these Freaky AI pictures of themselves hugging their younger selves,” wrote a poster.

“It would have been embarrassing to take a selfie at one point; now everyone is self-obsessed with zero shame,” added another.

One user wrote that the post was “corny,” as another commented, “These are so freaky. Why?”
