The STAR Market Daily reported on March 25 that Tesla Optimus officially released a video today, disclosing detailed information about Optimus, including the R&D environment, reduction gearboxes, and the design of dexterous hands.



According to the video content, the team is designing a high-power inverter with very compact dimensions. In robotic systems, high-power inverters provide precise AC power to motors, enabling flexible joint movement, accurate positioning, and high-torque output. The lead designer of Optimus’ dexterous hand stated: “As we iteratively redesign the robot and prepare to mass-produce the third generation, the product is gradually approaching human functionality, and its appearance may not even resemble a robot.”
Tesla Optimus officially stated that Optimus will be the greatest product ever created. This general-purpose humanoid robot, capable of executing practical tasks on a large scale, will revolutionize the economic landscape of labor and manufacturing. The company aims to achieve mass production of Optimus as soon as possible.
At the recently held ‘Abundance Summit,’ Tesla CEO Elon Musk stated that Optimus 3 is expected to begin production this summer. According to Musk, Tesla has entered the final stage of Optimus 3’s development, and he described this robot as the most advanced humanoid robot globally.
“We have reached the final completion stage of Optimus 3, and it will undoubtedly become the world’s most advanced robot, with no competing products able to match it. In fact, I have never seen any robot demonstration that can rival Optimus 3,” said Musk. He also provided expectations for the ramp-up of Optimus 3’s production capacity, noting that initial output will be very low but expressing optimism that large-scale mass production could be achieved by 2027.
CITIC Securities Research Report noted that the release schedule of Optimus 3 aligns with expectations, with clear plans for mass production. Tesla is leading the global transformation of the ‘physical AI’ industry, with humanoid robots serving as one of its core pillars, continuously iterating through a closed loop of ‘data-algorithm-hardware.’ The product is also expected to gradually extend from B-end to C-end, progressively opening up the anticipated market space of millions of humanoid robots. It is recommended to focus on high-quality components and grasp key developments such as dexterous hands.
Institutional analysts indicate that the inflection point for the mass production and commercial application of humanoid robotics may be approaching, gradually entering a standardized development phase. The evolution of embodied intelligence autonomy and generalization capabilities is also entering an accelerated track. By 2026, the industry is expected to transition from small-scale validation to a new stage of ‘1-10’ expansion. It is recommended to focus on upstream components and related targets in mainframe manufacturing, with upstream components likely to benefit first due to cost advantages. In terms of mainframe manufacturers, increased production volumes and capitalization are expected to lead to full valuation pricing.
