The Limited-Edition Meta Quest 3S Xbox Edition Is Now Available
June 24, 2025
Microsoft and Meta have teamed up to release a limited-edition Xbox-branded version of the Meta Quest 3S. The virtual reality headset comes with 128GB of built-in storage and a custom “carbon black and velocity green” color scheme. The bundle also includes an Elite Strap, a limited-edition Xbox Wireless Controller, plus three months each of Meta Horizon+ and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Meta Quest 3S Xbox Edition is available starting today, June 24, for $399.99 at Meta and Best Buy (though the Best Buy listing isn’t live yet). Microsoft says, “Quantities are extremely limited. Once they’re gone, they’re gone.”
- Get it at Meta
- Get it at Best Buy – (not yet available)
Considering everything included in this bundle, this is actually a killer deal. The standard 128GB Meta Quest 3S (which comes with three months of Meta Horizon+) costs $300, the Elite Strap is $130, most limited-edition Xbox controllers cost $75, and three months of Game Pass Ultimate is $60. So basically, the bundle saves you $265 versus buying the items separately – and you get the unique, limited-edition Xbox color scheme on all of the physical components.
The reason for the release, according to the Xbox Wire blog post announcing it, is to “celebrate the expansion of Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) on Meta Quest headsets.” That expansion actually kicked off in December of 2023, but this release acts as a reminder in case anyone forgot.
Though we’ve seen a number of Meta Quest headsets over the years, this is the first limited-edition version of any Meta Quest VR headset to release.
Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) is included in a Game Pass Ultimate subscription and lets you play a library of select games via streaming on Meta Quest devices. It also lets you play those same games on a host of other devices, like internet browsers, certain models of TVs, etc. – remember, pretty much everything is an Xbox now.
This partnership is also further proof that Microsoft is expanding its Xbox branding beyond consoles that sit under your TV. Fans of handheld gaming can look forward to the upcoming ASUS ROG Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X, in addition to next-gen Xbox consoles.
