The Miz has landed a big hosting gig with Amazon Prime Video.

According to Variety, WWE Superstar The Miz will follow in the footsteps of Hulk Hogan as the latest host for the upcoming reboot of American Gladiators on Amazon Prime Video.

American Gladiators is a popular television series that saw men and women compete with gladiators to earn a cash prize.

The original series ran from 1989 to 1996. The second iteration, hosted by Hogan, returned in 2008 but didn’t last nearly as long, and it was canceled after one season.

Amazon promises this reboot will feature an “all star cast of gladiators for the modern era.” While no names were mentioned in the initial article, it promises the cast will include “bodybuilders, former D1 athletes, crossfit champions, and fitness trainers from throughout the world.”

General manager of MGM Alternative, Evolution Media, and Big Fish Entertainment, Barry Poznick, gave the following statement to Variety regarding The Miz hosting the latest iteration of American Gladiators.

“We’re excited to officially welcome WWE Superstar Mike ‘The Miz’ Mizanin to the American Gladiators Family. He’s the perfect host for the new era of this iconic franchise,” Barry Poznick said. “The U.S. reboot, combined with our epic success in the U.K., our Live Nation Tour, and the launch of our 24/7 Gladiators FAST channel. This isn’t just a comeback, it’s a cultural revival. Fans, old and new, are going to love this evolution in sports entertainment.”
