Adios, 2026 Nissan Rogue hybrid—we hardly knew ye. Say hello to its far more appealing replacement: the 2027 Rogue Hybrid E-Power.

Nissan plans to offer the hybrid version first before a regular gas model joins the lineup. But the E-Power model should be the one to have, since it offers an EV driving experience minus any of the range anxiety.

The 2027 Rogue Hybrid E-Power features a series hybrid powertrain. You have electric motors front and rear, which send power to the wheels. A small turbocharged three-cylinder engine powers the small battery pack, which helps keep the electric motors humming along.

Should the pack run out of juice, the gas engine can feed power directly to the electric motors. And when the engine’s fuel tank runs low, you can simply fill up at a gas station.

The overall driving experience should feel primarily like a pure EV. You just skip out on that whole range anxiety bit. These extended-range electric vehicles are the perfect bridge for those curious about moving from a pure ICE vehicle to a battery-electric vehicle.

Add in the fact that this updated 2027 Rogue looks quite a bit better over that 2026 plugin hybrid model, and Nissan may have a winner on its hands.
