(CNN) – Thermos has recalled 8 million food jars and bottles due to issues with the stopper in the lid.

The recall includes the Thermos Stainless King 3000 and 30-20 food jars, and the Thermos Sportsman 30-10 food & beverage bottles.

The products were sold between 2008 and 2024 at Target, Walmart, and Amazon — among other retailers.

Thermos said the stoppers on the faulty products lack pressure relief in the center.

When food or drinks are stored in the product for an extended period of time, the stopper can forcefully eject when opened.

There have been more than two dozen reports of consumers being struck by a stopper when opening the containers — causing cuts or bruises.

Three people suffered permanent vision loss after being struck in the eye.
