This $82 Amazon purse rivals the $695 Coach Kisslock bag that’s always out of stock
January 16, 2026
Handbag trends come and go, but one purse that’s been on fashionista wishlists for over a year is the Coach Large Kisslock Frame Bag. It first hit the collective radar when Sarah Jessica Parker was spotted carrying it on the set of And Just Like That in November 2024. Hers was burgundy, but the bag had debuted in a range of colors two months earlier at NYFW.
When the design ultimately launched in stores in Spring 2025, it sold out immediately. And when the third season of AJLT aired, its popularity surged again. And now? It’s sold out on the Coach website, though you can join a waitlist if you’re willing to shell out nearly $700 for it — or even $950 for a special rainbow crystal iteration. (We know — no chance.)
Both options are expensive by almost anyone’s standards, and they’re even pricey for Coach, which has an online outlet stacked with styles for less than $200. But I have some good news: There’s a similar handbag available at Amazon for $82, and a smaller version for $50. They’re not exactly cheap, but they’re a (much) more affordable alternative to the consistently sold-out style.
Get it in this wine red shade (like Bradshaw’s) or black. Shoppers say both look more expensive than they are.
But let’s back up and talk about why people like the Coach Kisslock style. At 12.25 inches wide and 11.75 inches tall, the Coach Kisslock Frame Bag is part tote, part giant clutch. Cool girls carry it à la SJP — like a large, slouchy clutch, but it does come with a removable shoulder strap. And here’s a fun fact: The bag’s design is a nod to Coach’s 1969 Cashin Carry bag, an archival style created by the brand’s first lead designer, Bonnie Cashin. Of course, it also looks like a big vintage coin purse, which plays into a certain love for nostalgia right now.
The Catsea Large Kisslock Bag isn’t an exact replica, but it is very similar. It’s slightly bigger (13.77″x11.41″), has the same clasp type, a removable shoulder strap and two internal pockets for stashing valuables. Not surprisingly given the price difference, it’s made with faux leather.
It doesn’t yet have a ton of reviews on Amazon, but buyers are overwhelmingly happy with it, noting that it looks pretty similar to the Coach version.
“Looks great and 99% like the Coach Kisslock Bag!” said one shopper. “Only difference looks wise is the interior — just not as “posh” inside. It’s [also] not real leather, but looks and feels like it.”
Another buyer compared it directly to the higher-end style. “I own the Coach version of this bag in the brown. This black dupe is a fantastic bag … really cute and well made for the price. It looks like leather and feels like leather,” said the bag buff, who also shared a helpful tip. “When you get it, it comes flat and you have to stuff it with paper, air pillows or whatever you have that will work to get its form. Leave it in overnight, take a wet microfiber towel and spray some Shout on a cleaning cloth and wipe it down good on the outside. This will help it to get any wrinkles out overnight.”
“This bag is huge. Bigger than I was expecting, but I love it,” said another five-star fan. “It’s so unique [and] nostalgic. Reminds me of some kisslock purses my grandmother owned, and a little blue one I had as a child.”
As for the cons, some shoppers complained that the clasp isn’t super sturdy. “Amazing quality, no funky smells. My only complaint is if it gets too weighed down, the kisslock pops open,” explained one customer.
All in all, it’s a good option if you’re looking to pay less or you just wanna get your hands on the coveted style.
Here’s the beauty in black! Really, can you ever have enough black handbags? (Short answer: Nope.)
Want something a little smaller? This size comes with a removable chain to wear it as a crossbody.
This smaller size comes in more colors, including black, brown, red, pink and two faux suede options.
