A federal safety agency is warning that a baby lounger sold on Amazon can be deadly and should not be used.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission issued the warning about 6,200 Fasando-brand baby loungers sold for about $35 on Amazon from August 2024 through July 2025.

The commission said the loungers “violate the mandatory standard for infant sleep products.

“The sides are too low to contain an infant and the enclosed openings at the foot of the loungers are wider than allowed, posing fall and entrapment hazards. Also, the baby loungers do not have a stand, posing a fall hazard if used on elevated surfaces. These violations create an unsafe sleeping environment for infants and can cause death or serious injury.”

The commission said a 2-month-old baby reportedly died this year when “found unresponsive after being placed to sleep in a Fasando-branded baby lounger on top of an adult bed.”

A notice of violation has been issued to the seller, Qiyangshiqiguangyuekejiyouxiangongsi, doing business as Fasando, of China.

The commission said Fasando has not agreed to recall the baby loungers or offer a remedy to consumers.

The baby loungers include a foam sleeping pad and padded bumpers with a cloth cover. They were sold in various prints and color combinations including grey elephant, baby blue animals, blue animals, gold elephant, pink lion and yellow elephant. They have snaps and a ribbon tie at the bottom to close the baby lounger. “Fasando” is printed on a bright blue label stitched on the outside of the cover.

The commission said owners should stop using the loungers, destroy and dispose of them. They should not be sold or donated.

Babies should always be placed to sleep on a firm, flat surface in a crib, bassinet or play yard. The sleeping surface should only have a fitted sheet – no blankets, pillows or padded crib bumpers.

Babies should always be placed to sleep on their back.
