This “massive” machine was placed in the ocean, and it could change how millions of people

Amid the global calls to diversify the energy market, a new future of energy generation has emerged that may surprise you. Decarbonizing the international energy market has become a top priority for the vast majority of the world. But reaching a point where the renewable energy sector can do so may prove to be an insurmountable challenge for most nations. However, a new technology has emerged from the sea of renewable energy possibilities that could potentially reshape the global energy market for many years to come.
Tidal turbines in the ocean may be the answer to all our energy needs
Tidal turbines work by harnessing the energy generated during the shifts in the tide, providing a clean energy resource for the world to take advantage of.
The generational reliance on fossil fuel-based energy production has resulted in extreme climate change that has devastated the environment. Luckily, the vast majority of the world is turning to the renewable energy sector to decarbonize the global energy market. New tidal energy technology is being developed all over the world, and the UK, in particular, has reported a new project being developed by Magallanes Renovables that will redefine the possibilities of tidal energy generation. The company has installed the blades on one of the rotors of its Atir floating tidal energy platform ahead of towing trials in Spain.
The tidal energy sector is set to grow substantially thanks to the new project being developed by Magallanes Renovables
The firm has been conducting trials of the tidal energy platform in Spain and has plans to deploy the technology in Scotland over the coming years. The dangerous tides that sweep through the Scottish islands can become a major energy source that the world will rely on to decarbonize the energy sector over the next few years, paving the way to a new energy future for us all.
Magallanes Renovables has confirmed the stability of the tidal energy technology
The company has confirmed the stability of the tidal energy technology and has noted that the process to deploy the tech to Scottish waters is moving ahead. Notably, Magallanes Renovables has been testing the Atir device in Spain and has confirmed the technology is stable enough to be deployed anywhere in the world that has storing tides in the ocean. The size of the tidal energy device is astonishing to say the least. Magallanes Renovables states that the full-scale device weighs 350 tonnes and is 42 meters long. The platform can generate an impressive amount of power, 2 MW to be exact, and is set to redefine what is possible in the renewable energy sector. As the UK is “too dark” for solar power, tidal energy can serve as the go-to energy generation resource that will not only provide energy for the domestic market but also reduce carbon emissions tremendously.
The UK energy market is about to look a whole lot different, thanks to tidal energy
The astonishing development of the required technology for tidal energy has been a sight for sore eyes in the global energy industry in recent years. As the UK is mostly surrounded by water, tidal energy seems to be a perfect fit for the energy industry. The Magallanes Renovables tidal turbine is one development, while the O2 tidal turbine has been operating in UK waters for some time now. Thanks to the impressive advancement of the technology, the future of the global energy market will be driven by a litany of tidal energy turbines that will dot the UK energy landscape in the next few years. Thank goodness we say, and let’s all take a moment to reflect on how far the energy sector has come.
