This popular baby product sold on Amazon is being recalled over deadly safety risks

Thousands more baby loungers that do not meet federal safety standards have been recalled.

LSY Direct has recalled 11,900 BBWOO baby loungers sold for between $34 and $39 on Amazon from July 2024 to November 2025, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The baby loungers were recalled because they violate the mandatory safety standards for infant sleep products.

The commission said the sides of the loungers are too low to contain an infant. The enclosed openings at the foot of the loungers are wider than allowed. These design flaws pose risks of falls and entrapment. The loungers also do not have a stand for use on an elevated surface.

The commission said the violations “create an unsafe sleeping environment and can cause death or serious injury.”

The model numbers of the recalled loungers are:

  • Gray dinosaur: BLG26BE
  • Blue car: BLG23BD
  • Green line: BLG04BD
  • Gray feather: BLG01BE
  • Pink deer: BLG17BI
  • Pink elephant: BLG32BI
  • Gray line: BLG04BE
  • Blue: CZC44
  • Gray: CZC41
  • Khaki-cotton and velvet: CZC43
  • Red: CZC42

Owners should stop using the BBWOO loungers and contact LSY Direct for a refund.

Consumers should remove the foam and pads from the baby lounger’s cover and cut the cover, foam and pad in half. Consumers should email photos of the destroyed pieces to bbwoorecall@163.com to obtain a refund.

The commission frequently issues safety warnings and recalls about baby loungers.

In October 2024, when the CPSC approved a new federal mandatory standard to improve the safety of infant support cushions, it said it was “aware of 79 infant deaths and 124 injuries between 2010 and 2022 associated with infant support cushions, with most injuries and deaths occurring among infants younger than 3-months old.

“The majority of these deaths involved the infant support cushion being used in or on a sleep product, including an adult bed or mattress, a bassinet, crib, play yard or on a couch, futon or toddler bed.”

Earlier this month, Joyful Journeys recalled 9,300 loungers sold on Amazon and Walmart.com. The commission issued a warning in December about 6,200 Fasando-brand loungers sold on Amazon. In November 2025, a warning was issued about XZV-brand loungers and in October 2025 a warning was issued about Bubble Monkey loungers.

Any infant sleep product must pass a firmness test “to reduce suffocations from the product conforming to an infant’s face and obstructing the infant’s airways …”

The sides must be steep enough to contain a baby and it cannot be titled more than 10 degrees. Restraints are not allowed because they “could suggest that infants can safely be left unattended in the product.”

Support cushions should never be used for infants to sleep or nap. They should only be used on the floor – never on beds, sofas or other raised surfaces.

Babies should sleep on their backs on a firm surface without blankets, bumpers or toys.
