This Week on Another View: The Growing Use of Cannabis by Seniors

In the 1970s, marijuana use surged in the US. Driven by the counter-culture movement and a growing acceptance of cannabis, by 1976, more than a third of high school seniors reported using marijuana. By 1979, one in eight Americans over 12 reported using weed. That generation is now fifty years or older and reports are- they’re still lighting up- for both medical and recreational use.
