Timber Cannabis welcomed during grand opening

NEW BUFFALO — Timber Cannabis Co was welcomed with a Harbor Country Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting ceremony during its April 4 grand opening celebration.
Director of Marketing Joe Becker said the dispensary, located at 19615 U.S. 12 in New Buffalo, has been open for two months (starting in early February) and offers a full line of cannabis products along with their own line of seed-to-store flower called High Minded.
“The High Minded flower that we produce is the best fire in the state of Michigan!” Timber Cannabis Director of Retail Mike Stump said during the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Joshua Slusser, General Manager of the New Buffalo Timber Cannabis dispensary, said the High Minded brand offers a variety of flower, edibles, vapes. He said Timber Cannabis also carries a wide variety of other products including drinks candy, chocolate, popcorn, concentrates, all kinds if vapes, pre-rolls,
“We want to make sure we carry something for every single customer walking down the street,” he said, adding that Timber also offers holistic medicines that don’t contain THC or other intoxicants.
Becker said Timber Cannabis Co. wants to make sure “the experience is curated for the customers.”
“We really try to work the right product for the right person and give the best deal possible,” he said.
Stump said they had a great turnout for the grand opening with customers from all over Michigan as well as Indiana and Illinois
“At Timber Cannabis we’re trying to meet the customer where they are,” Stump said. “If you want to come in and take to our well-trained cannabis consultant/bud tenders, they’re here to serve you. If you want a different experience digitally, we have some pretty awesome kiosk experiences that you can go through to place your order. If you want to order online and come into the store and pick it up fast, it’s here for you. If you don’t even want to get out of your car, you can place a curbside order and we’ll bring the order right to your door.”
Becker said Timber strives to be very close to the community they do business in.
For the April 4 grand opening the New Buffalo Timber Cannabis presented three checks to local good causes – $5,000 to Paws for Humanity and $2,500 to both Harbor Country Mission and Friends of the New Buffalo Township Fire Department.
Brelynn Woodrick of Timber’s Higher Hopes Foundation said customers chose the recipients via votes.
Going forward she said the Higher Hopes Foundation will donate $1,000 quarterly to a local non-profit organization and also plans to get involved as volunteers in community efforts such as food drives.
Woodrick said she is excited because “we’re going to get to go out to the (Paws for Humanity) farm and do some volunteering and team building.”
“It’s going to be more than a donation, it’s going to be a future partnership,” she added.
