Top cryptocurrencies fall; Bitcoin drops below $70,000

Top cryptocurrencies fell Monday, with Bitcoin (BTC-USD) dropping below $70,000.

The Nasdaq 100 fell 0.9%, the S&P 500 dropped 0.3%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average eased 0.1%.

Bitcoin dropped 2% to $69,311.2, according to CoinMarketCap data. The most popular cryptocurrency’s 24-hour trading volume fell 31% to $37.3 billion.

Ethereum (ETH-USD), the second-largest digital asset by market value, fell 1.9% to $2,114.7.

XRP (XRP-USD) declined 3.2%, BNB (BNB-USD) fell 1.2%, and Solana (SOL-USD) dropped 3.1%. Dogecoin (DOGE-USD) lost 1.9%, and Cardano (ADA-USD) shed 0.4%.

The US 10-year Treasury yield stood at 4.384% at 3 p.m. ET Tuesday, up from 4.332% Monday, while the five-year yield rose to 4.023% from 3.946%.

The total market value of the cryptocurrency industry fell 1.6% in the past 24 hours to $2.39 trillion, with trading volume declining 30% to $90.6 billion.
