Governor Mike Dunleavy has announced a high-profile lineup for next month’s Alaska Sustainable Energy Conference. Three members of President Trump’s Cabinet will join him in Anchorage to discuss the future of energy development in the state and beyond.
Governor Mike Dunleavy revealed that Doug Burgum, Secretary of the Interior, Chris Wright, Secretary of Energy, and Lee Zeldin, Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, will be attending the Alaska Sustainable Energy Conference in Anchorage next month.
The event, which runs June 3-5 at the Dena’ina Civic and Convention Center, will explore a wide range of topics related to energy, including Alaska’s resources and how advancements in renewable energy and nuclear power can help address growing global demand.
Governor Dunleavy highlighted Alaska’s vast energy potential and its role in U.S. energy independence. He said, “I’m thankful we have an administration in Washington that recognizes Alaska’s unique value.”
“For the last four years, Alaska suffered under policies that buried our resources under red tape. At this year’s conference, I’m honored to join Governor Dunleavy and Secretary Wright in putting America back on the path toward energy dominance,” said Secretary Burgum in a statement.
Ahead of the conference, a special pre-conference event will be held on June 2, featuring top U.S. Energy officials and directors of national laboratories to discuss Alaska’s role in future energy innovation.
