Toyota investing $200 million in Gibson Co. plant

PRINCETON, Ind. (WFIE) – Toyota has announced $1 billion in investments for Indiana and Kentucky.

That includes $200 million to increase capacity for the Grand Highlander at the plant in Gibson County.

Leaders say it will join assembly of the Sienna minivan in the East Plant, while continuing assembly alongside the Lexus TX in the West Plant.

This year, Toyota Indiana is celebrating 30 years in Gibson County.

“Today’s announcement reflects the company’s commitment to meeting customer demand and the belief in our team to get it done,” said Jason Puckett, president of Toyota Indiana. “For thirty years, Toyota Indiana has led the charge into the future by putting our customers first, delivering quality vehicles, and remaining committed to our values.
