Two stocks are identified as having the potential to add a trillion dollars to their market capitalization, according to a recent analysis from Yahoo Finance. One is an electric vehicle company that has already achieved such a valuation milestone, while the other is described as an undervalued competitor.

Tesla’s Path to Repeating a Trillion-Dollar Achievement

Tesla has previously reached a trillion-dollar market cap. A significant factor in reaching that valuation was the success of its Model Y vehicle, which has been a top-selling global car for multiple years and constitutes most of the company’s automotive sales. The scale established by the Model Y is now being leveraged for new ventures.

The company recently stated it would stop producing two of its older models. It plans to replace them with a new vehicle called the Cybercab, which is designed without traditional controls. Manufacturing of this vehicle could start soon.

This shift is seen as positioning Tesla to address the robotaxi market, which some analysts view as a massive global opportunity. One analyst from Wedbush has suggested the robotaxi segment could contribute an additional trillion dollars to Tesla’s market value. The company’s stock has declined since the start of the year.

Rivian’s Potential to Follow a Similar Trajectory

The second company, Rivian, is presented as an electric vehicle competitor that may be positioned to replicate the path to a trillion-dollar valuation. The analysis suggests Rivian is following a similar strategy for success as Tesla did.

Tesla’s ability to pursue large opportunities like robotaxis is attributed to its existing mass production scale and its leadership’s vision. The report implies these factors contribute to the company’s unique standing.
