University of Lynchburg to offer new cannabis career programs

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — The University of Lynchburg has launched new online Cannabis Career Certificate programs in partnership with Green Flower, a leader in cannabis education.
According to the university, the programs are designed to prepare students for the cannabis industry’s most in-demand roles and offer a structured entry point into the field.
School officials said specialized programs will be available in cannabis cultivation, product development, retail and sales, compliance and medical cannabis.

“We’re proud to collaborate with Green Flower to deliver high-quality, workforce-aligned cannabis education,” said John A. Zinn III, executive director of the Professional Development Institute. “We’ve seen the strongest interest in medical and healthcare-focused cannabis courses, which aligns with the University of Lynchburg’s strengths in health sciences and medical education.”
The first cohort begins Tuesday, Jan. 13, with new sessions starting every eight weeks. The courses will feature more than 50 cannabis industry leaders and subject-matter experts.
