November 26, 2025
Several unlicensed cannabis shops in Warren and Ulster counties have been shut down by the state Office of Cannabis Management.
It came after reports from concerned community members.
Investigators found illicit cannabis products were being marketed and sold to people under the age of 21.
“Selling cannabis to young people is despicable, irresponsible, and the truest meaning of careless. To the smoke shops selling illicit cannabis and flagrantly violating the laws that protect the health of our youngest New Yorkers, take notice: there will be certain and swift consequences. The work done by OCM’s Enforcement Team and our partners at the Warren County Sheriff’s Office makes clear that, in partnership, we will always do the work to support responsible businesses and uphold a legal market worthy of public trust,” said Felicia A.B. Reid, acting executive director of the state Office of Cannabis Management.
At three unlicensed Queensbury locations, they found illegal cannabis flower, edibles, and concentrates available for sale.
All three stores have been padlocked.
In Saugerties, Saugerties Convenience on Partition Street was shut down. According to OCM officials, the location was advertising its products to underage customers. The business held its grand opening just last week.
