Urgent recall: This Amazon hair growth spray could be dangerous if you have kids at home

January 26, 2026

Moralowen has recalled 29,000 bottles of its Iristar hair and beard growth product because the bottles are not in child-resistant packaging.

The spray bottles contain minoxidil, a drug that is required to be in child-resistant packaging by the Poison Prevention Packaging Act, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. If a child swallows minoxidil, it can be deadly.

No injuries have been reported.

The Iristar hair growth stimulant contains 5% minoxidil with biotin. It is packaged in black plastic bottles with navy blue labels and white highlights with a spray cap.

It was sold for about $18 on Amazon.com from December 2024 through September 2025.

People who bought the product should ensure that children do not have access to it. Moralowen will provide free replacement bottles that are child-resistant.

Consumers should transfer the contents of the recalled bottle into the new child-resistant bottle. Once the product is transferred, consumers can continue to use the product as directed.
